Welcome, to your one stop shop for all things Bestest Friend Contest related! 
Are you excited? I hope so because I'm excited. 
Before I get into the workings of the group and how things are likely, nothing is set in stone, to go down I just wanted to say thank you, and give you all a giant hug! Without you all the Bestest Friend Contest never would have happened! Your kind donations of features, points, PMs, and all things wonderful really helped make the contest what it became. I knew it was going to be popular, but I never thought that it would be so wildly popular! I'm not entirely sure the final count for the entries, but there were many of them! So once again, thank you all for everything you've done to help us make this contest a success and give yourselves a pat on the back for a job well done!
Onto the inner workings!
You might have noticed that we aren't accepting members. What we've decided to do is the current judges are contributors. Once the next contest begins the judges from the last contest will become members of the group. This is so we know who we've picked before, and so there are no repeats in the judges, at least for a while. Once the old judges are members the new judges will become contributors. We want to give as many people as we can an opportunity to be a judge in our contest. The only consistent judges will be HugQueen and I.
The next contest will be sometime in 2015, we haven't nailed down a date, or judges, but we have planned a little bit of it. You might be wondering why it's so far away. Steph and I are already judging a contest for October, and we want to give each piece as much time as it deserves. November is NaNoWriMo, and I'm not sure about you, but most of my time will be spent writing like a fiend on a typewriter. Finally, December is Christmas, meaning family gatherings, good food, it's almost as busy as November! If you want up-to-date information on what's going on with the group and the upcoming contest, be sure to watch the group so you don't miss anything!
One last thing before I sign off, be sure to let everyone know about our little group, that way the updates get to everyone, and we can make the next Contest a roaring success! I'm sure there are some of you with questions, so feel free to ask in a comment on this journal and someone will get back to you shortly.
